From the west to the mainland: the context, practice and boundary of enterprises’ greenwashing behavior
For a long time, domestic scholars have equated “greenwashing” behavior with “greenwashing advertisement” in the media text and neglected the main cause behind the greenwashing. Based on this, this paper, from the perspective of the Actor-Network Theory, combined with local practice and the important research on greenwashing at home and abroad in recent years, tries to outline the complete appearance of the concept. From the perspective of network formation, this study frst explains the particularity of greenwashing behavior in local context. Next, in view of the fuzzy concepts in this feld, the responsibility of the relevant subjects of greenwashing is defned. Finally, on the basis of connecting the theory and practice, this paper sorts out several existing research orientations on greenwashing at home and abroad, makes a horizontal comparison of domestic and foreign regulatory practices on greenwashing, and takes “carbon trading” platform as an example to put forward a new perspective on local greenwashing practices. This paper proposes that, in China where consumerism discourse is ?ourishing , the phenomenon of greenwashing has already jumped out of the text and entered the daily life of the audiences. To pay attention to the problem of greenwashing, we should start from the perspective of the network composition of actors, and comprehensively analyze the multi-agent causes of greenwashing, so as to serve the current environmental communication practice.
