在最近一二十年间，物质性（materiality）研究成为多个人文学科与社会科学的重要 研究领域。由于其显而易见的跨学科性，物质性研究具有多元的理论源流和研究导向。 本文主要关注多个语种的学术界中的媒介性、技术与物质性的理论建构与实践，尝试从 思想史的视角概述媒介与传播物质性研究的主要理论与方法论路径、学术渊源以及互动 关系，从而简要勾勒这些理论与实践的学术演进脉络。
In recent two decades, materiality studies has become an important research area of quite some disciplines of humanities and social sciences. Due to its obvious multidisciplinarity, materiality studies has diverse theoretical origins and research orientations. This article focuses on the theoretical constructions and practices on medialities, techniques/technologies and materialities in multiple academic languages. Through a brief historical description of some of its prominent theories and methodological approaches, as well as their academic origins and interactions, this article sketches out the evolving paths of materiality studies in the broad media and communication research areas.
