数字媒体以不同方式日益嵌入人日常生活实践之中，大部分人对当代社会无所不在 的计算技术的基本原理一无所知，其使用界面却愈发强调用户友好让我们对其熟视无 睹。这种黑箱机制使不可见的软件技术与算法逻辑借以程序功能的形式呈现出来，远 程非即时文件传输被命名为电子“邮件”，超文本文件传输协议下的文档读取被视作为 “页”，这种种物质隐喻及其参与形构的数字物质性，已经潜移默化地影响到人类的认 知与具身行为。在当下对于数字媒体物质性的讨论之中，虽然有来自传播政治经济学、 物质文化和媒体考古学等多重路径，其后既有辩证唯物主义，也有新物质主义等不同理 论源流，但总体而言，它们在主体与客体、硬件与软件两个维度上各有取舍，共同构 成了传播研究的物质转向。本研究试图从网页等这一个案出发，探讨万维网在形成之 初，西方世界前数字时代文本的物质隐喻如何影响了数字时代我们对超文本文档的理 解，希望能深入反思作为数字物质性的物质隐喻（material metaphor）与人类身体姿态 （gesture）的关系。更希藉基于此进一步考察，移动终端、物联网方兴未艾之际，非西 方世界接入并参与到互联网发展之后，来自诸如中国的日常生活技术实践形构互联网发 展路径的可能。

 Digital media are embedded into our daily life in various ways. While the dynamics of ubiqui-tous computation is unknown to most of us, the user-friendly interfaces make us take them for grant-ed. The material metaphor as web page has affected human’s cognition and embodiment. This black-box mechanism renders the invisible software technology and is named electronic “mail”, while document reading under hypertext transfer protocol is viewed as “page”. These kinds of material metaphors and the digital materiality formation with discussions on the materiality of digital media encompass multiple approaches from political economy of communication, material culture and media archaeology, with both dialectical materialism and other different theories such as new materialism. But they are of re-spective emphases in the two dimensions of subject and object, and hardware and software, constituting the material turn in communication research. This paper explores how the metaphor of the at the begin-ning of the formation of the world wide web so as to apply material object analysis to the web page metaphor to exam the interaction between material metaphor and the gesture. It also discusses poten-cies of alternative approaches of Internet innovation with the daily technical practices from China.
