中国的新媒体事件已有二十多年历史。本文在香港中文大学新闻与传播学院第二次举办“新媒体事件”研究工作坊的基础上，探讨学术研究背后的社会情景和知识逻辑。具体涉及近年来新媒体事件研究的新趋势，包括新型研究方法的采纳、研究范畴的拓展、新老理论工具的作用等。访谈对象邱林川认为，研究者如能跳出自我设限的思维模式，一方面进入网络平台公司及网络劳工群体中开展深入调研，一方面进行跨越时空的比较，将可更好地超越现象，发现事件背后的结构与“史识”。如此提升本领域学术水平，未来中文学术圈甚至可能在新媒体事件研究方面走在世界前列。

It has been more than two decades since the frst “new media event” in China. This article is based on the second “new media event research” workshop held at the School of Journalism and Communication, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It discusses the social settings and epistemological logics behind academic research on new media events in China. By re?ecting on recent trends in new media events research, including the deployment of new methods, the expansion of research scope, and the utilization of new and old theoretical tools, Jack Linchuan Qiu proposes that scholars need to transcend self-confning modes of conventional thinking; that researchers need to conduct in-depth studies of Internet platform companies as well as network labor; and that comparative approaches beyond time and space shall enable us to discover structures and historical patterns behind the phenomena observed.Then Chinese-language academia may seize the opportunity to play a leading role worldwide in the feld of new media events research.
