城市社区是微观的社会治理单元，在危机常态化的中国当代社会结构下，积极探索城市社区的管理模式对改善基层社会沟通状况、洞察群体性事件发展过程、促进公民参与善治而言，意义重大。本文初步探析了社区网格化管理这一新媒体背景下中国社会管理创新的实践活动，从信息传播视角考察其运行特点、组织方式和存在问题等。
