电视现实以现实本身的面目出现，但它远不是社会现实，即便是与社会现实最接近的新闻现场直播，也是电视建构的结果。本文把这种经由电视建构的貌似真实的现实，称为“电视现实”。在电视现实的建构过程中，电视修辞发挥着重要作用。它使电视世界成为“为我们的”的世界，而不是一个“自在”的世界。通过分隔与连接，凝缩与简化，积极修辞与消极修辞，以及建立电视修辞幻象等多种修辞手段，所有参与电视活动的修辞主体共同完成了电视现实的建构，完成了以电视这种特殊形式把握世界、影响世界的过程。修辞学的视角，可以让我们从一个特定角度去接近电视的本质。

Television appears to be the world itself, but actually is far from it, even a live TV, which claims to be the closest, is just an outcome of human activities. The so-called “television reality” in this article refers to the reality close to the real world and structured by TV. During this process, the rhetoric of television plays an important role. The world in TV becomes a world “for us”, but not in itself. By the different rhetorical means, all the subjects participate in the construction, by which they have understood and influenced the surroundings. We can access to the essence of television from the view of rhetoric.
