本文基于美国新闻史来考察新闻真实作为一个观念的发展过程，即在美国社会的大背景下来探究新闻真实观念的起源、形成和发展的全过程，同时呈现美国新闻界对新闻真实观念的多种阐释，进而思考影响新闻真实观念实现的内外矛盾。
