Defending the Freedom of Expression: Research On Engels’ Essay “The
Debate on the Law on Posters”
恩格斯的《关于招贴法的辩论》一文，是恩格斯对1849年对普鲁士议会关于招贴法辩论的评
析，他对普鲁士当权者试图取消招贴、控制出版自由的种种借口进行了批驳。恩格斯在该文中指
出，唯有每一个人，尤其是工人阶级真正享有出版自由，才能和平地、公开地在思想上开展阶级斗
争。
In the essay “The Debate on the Law on Posters”, F. Engels commented on the debate about whether
to pass the Law on Posters in the Prussian Parliament in 1849.He also criticized the excuses the government
used to abolish the law on posters and their intention to control the press freedom. Engels disclosed that the
press freedom is supposed to be enjoyed by everyone, especially by the working-class. Then it is possible
for the public to fight fairly and peacefully for their freedom of expression.
