公共事件的生成与演进往往与谣言传播存在着密切的动态关联。本文以NC市一起因环境问题引发的公共事件为例，通过对事件的实地调研与深度访谈，以扎根理论为研究方法，去除了以往对谣言传播的价值判断，获得了一些突破性的认识：谣言传播对公共事件的走向与发展有着重大影响，公共事件中的谣言剧目有着一套独特的传播机制与演变逻辑。朴素的话语表达，使得谣言依赖强关系达成合意，而经过网络媒体的大量转发，想象的真实让谣言符码实现了意义的内爆，并产生一种超真实体验，在各种关系驱动与群体动力下，谣言由内爆发展为外爆。此外，在公共事件下，公众的谣言话语与修辞需要得到重新审视，扎根理论研究得出，环境公共事件中的谣言是底层群体一种真实的想象、朴素的话语资源和隐退的舆论景观。

The formation and evolution of public events are often closely related to rumor propagation. This paper takes a public event caused by environmental problems in NC city as an example. Through field investigation and in-depth interview of the event, some enlightening understandings are obtained by taking grounded theory as the research method, Rumor propagation has a significant impact on the direction of public events, Rumor plays in public events have a unique communication mechanism and evolution logic. Simple discourse expression makes rumors rely on strong relationships to achieve consensus. However, after a large number of network media’s forwarding, the imaginary truth makes the rumor code realize the meaning of implosion, and produces a kind of hyper-real experience. Driven by various relationships and group dynamics, rumors develop from implosion to detonation. Moreover, in the context of public events, the rumor discourse and rhetoric of the public need to be reexamined. The revelation given by grounded theory is that rumor is a real imagination, a simple discourse resource and a secluded public opinion landscape.
