策略性叙事中的国际新闻驯化:印度主流媒体“一带一路”报道分析
Strategic Narrative and Domestication of International News: An Analysis of Three Mainstream Indian Media’s Coverage on the “Belt and Road Initiative”
本文选取印度三大主流英文报纸《印度时报》、《印度教徒报》、《印度斯坦时报》2015-2018年1036篇“一带一路”报道为分析样本,在语义网络分析的基础上,梳理了三家报纸的议题选择和触发事件,并对三家报纸的叙事策略从人物与角色、布景与语境、情节与冲突、结局与解决方案四类要素展开分析,归纳出印度媒体“一带一路” 报道从观望、忧虑到决绝再到重设的动态发展的四个阶段。研究发现,三家报纸有关 “一带一路”的报道在驯化方面采取了引用本国政要发言、勾连民族历史记忆、强调本国实际利益、关联本国外交政策的方式,通过与常规关注点结合来增加议题的本土化程度。本文以印媒驯化的“一带一路”报道为参照,讨论了国际新闻驯化在全球化与本土化之间的协商作用,并对其在新闻专业主义规范下的话语实践提出了构想。
Based on 1036 reports related to the “Belt and Road Initiative” from India’s top three mainstream English-language newspapers, The Times of India, The Hindu and Hindustan Times from 2015 to 2018, this paper illustrates their agenda framing, triggering events and other characteristics of each stage by the method of semantic network analysis. The paper then describes the whole picture of the development of Indian media’s attitude according to four categories of rhetoric motives, roles, settings, plots and endings. As for the journalistic practice of domestication, the three Indian media invite their readers to relate with coverage on “BRI” by citing Indian officials, recalling the collective memory of their people, emphasizing India’s core interest and referring to India’s foreign policies. The role domestication plays in the negotiation between globalization and localization and its ideal form under the norm of journalistic professionalism are also discussed with reference to the three media’s coverage.
