“观”是主体关于确定对象的根本性或系统性看法或观念，“观”层次的新闻观念就是“新闻观”，是关于新闻（广义）“是什么”特别是“应是什么”以及“应该如何做新闻”的根本性和系统性的看法。在不同的视野中，新闻观有不同的具体构成方式，但每一种新闻观的核心都是它的新闻价值观；主导当前中国新闻业的新闻观，是具有本土当代特色的马克思主义新闻观。新闻观是新闻主体的新闻信念，是指导新闻实践根本性和总体性的思想，是建设新闻共同体的灵魂，是新闻主体进行自我维护及与他者展开论辩的观念工具。

‘View’ is subjects’ fundamental or systematic opinion about certain objects. Journalistic idea on ‘view’ level is ‘journalistic view’, and it is also fundamental and systematic opinion of what journalism “is”, especially “ought to be”. Journalism views have different specific constructions in different perspectives, but the ‘journalistic view of value’ is always the core of every type of ‘journalism view’. The dominant journalistic view in current Chinese journalism is Marxist journalistic view has indigenous and contemporary characteristics. Journalistic view is journalistic subjects' journalistic belief. It is not only fundamental but also is an overall ideology to guide practice, soul to build journalism community, and idea tool for journalistic subjects to make self-maintenance and debate with others.
