摘要

新一代法兰克福学派学者安德鲁·芬伯格,生活在互联网时代,基于新的理论视角和时代背景,他对这一时期新的传播技术——计算机网络的认知迥异于前代学者的“文化工业”理论。本文通过对他研究路径、理论逻辑等进行分析,不仅阐明了他由“批判技术”到“转化技术”的转变轨迹,而且,着重从他对计算机技术两重性、提出“工具化理论”对计算机化进行合理解释,以此来重塑前代学者救赎愿景:融合生活世界的经验与价值来影响有问题的技术(及其技术规则与标准)等观念,考察了他对传播技术的新理解。芬伯格的思想,仍具有一定的抽象性和缺乏对现实的足够关照,但他着眼于生活逻辑,开启了技术批判理论的实践和经验转向,不仅有助于我们全面认识法兰克福学派;而且,他基于技术网络提出了被前代学者忽视的战略上的可能性,也给现今新的传播环境下如何看待和使用传播技术提供一种新的参考性框架。

Abstract

Andrew Feenberg, a new generation Frankfurt School scholar, lives in the age of the Internet. Based on the new theoretical perspective and the background of the time, his cognition on the new communication technology of this period - computer network is very different from the theory of "cultural industry" of the previous generation. Based on the analysis of his research path and theoretical logic, this paper not only clarifes his transformation from "critical technology" to "transformation technology", but also examines his new understanding of communication technology. Through his understanding of the duality of computer technology, he puts forward the "instrumental theory" to explain the computerized rationale in order to reshape the vision of the previous generation of scholars: integrating life experience and value of the world to in?uence the technology (and its technical rules and standards) and so on. Feenberg's view, despite some of the abstraction and lack of suffcient attention to reality, focuses on the logic of life, making the theory of technical criticism turned to practice and experience, and proposed the strategic possibilities ignored by the previous generation of scholars. This not only helps us to fully understand the Frankfurt School, but also provides a new reference framework concerning how to view and use communication technology in the new communication environment.
