The Historical Origin and Logical Connection Between “Running Newspapers by the Whole Party” and “Running Newspapers by the Masses”
At present, numerous studies focus on “running newspapers by the whole Party” and “running newspapers by the masses” in the academia, but most of the studies are vague about the relationship between the two. By exploring the sources and connotation of “running newspapers by the whole Party and by the masses”, this paper holds that clarifying the relationship between the two is not only the key to fully understand the connotation of “running newspapers by the whole Party and by the masses”, but also the gist of correctly grasping the relationship among the Party, the Party media and the masses. The mutual connection between the two is determined by the nature and purpose of the Party, the situation of the revolutionary war and by practical demands. It is precisely because of the mutual connection between the two that forms a system of “running newspapers by the whole Party and running newspapers by the masses”. Correct understanding of this system is helpful for the Party’s propaganda and ideological front to recognize its own position and for consciously undertaking its mission of unifying thoughts and achieving cohesiveness in the new era.
