In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the function of public opinion supervision is no longer confned to newspapers supervision in Marx's time as well as Party’s newspapers criticism. Public opinion supervision has been endowed with new functions: it has been of great signifcance for the country, and belongs to the responsibility and mission of journalists; it is helpful to improve the power supervision system, promote Party conduct and build a clean government; it helps citizens to realize the right of supervision and promote the construction of democratic politics. Under this background, the policy of “Conducting, Doing Well and Controlling” made by Mao Zedong should also be adapted to new principles according to Xi Jinping: the subject should be comprehensive; the evaluation should be systematic; the system guarantee should be provided.
