Abstract

In the initial stage of convergence, China media focused on reconfiguring their internal resources; With the progression of convergence, they began to shift to the external resources, such as strengthening collaboration with government agencies, enterprises and institutions through autonomous and controllable new media platforms to carry out “cross-border” convergence, which has expanded its impact to some extent. On the whole, however, the number of loyal users who have joined in their individual capacity remains limited. Therefore, connecting individual users and building open media is the further direction of deeper media convergence, and also the difficulty that must be overcome to create a new type of mainstream media.
