In the transformation of the status of modern religious newspapers in China, scholars generally pay more attention to the content reconstruction and the sinking of readers under the change of their publishing purposes. It seems that it is a natural process for Western newspapers to be embedded in Chinese society. But actually, the original Chinese transportation system has undertaken the important work. Since limited by location and distribution mode, the distribution coverage of The News of Church in the early period could only publish in the surrounding areas of Shanghai and some port areas. As the modern transportation system gradually embedded the social structure of China, it began to expand. In 1872, The News of Church began to enter the “reading world” of the scholars in the late Qing Dynasty. The News of Church also gradually transformed into a comprehensive newspaper(The Globe Magazine ) with its deep influence on the modernization of China in the future.
