Abstract

The evolution of online connection of people re?ects the development of internet in some way and connection is regarded as a rule of internet. Connection models have been changing to cater to varying needs of users’ social interaction, with the swing of the relationship between far and near, real name and anonymity, weak tie and strong tie. However, people are now facing the burden of over connection, such as fatigue and suppression of over social interaction, constraints to individuals and segmentation of society resulted by social circles and stratifcation, encroachment by on-line connection into off-line interaction, stress of over connection between people and content, and relying on external memory, etc. Therefore, anti-connection may become a new rule of internet and new choice for users in some situations, which can be approached by empowerment of users, restriction of service providers’ power, adjustment of product strategy and improving of users’ internet literacy.
