Abstract

There has been an upsurge of interpretation of the term “western journalism professionalism” in the domestic research field in recent 10 years. However, the interpretive framework that scholars built is “caused by pile-up”, just like Gu Jiegang’s view of Chinese ancient history. It can’t fully explain journalistic professionalism that westerns think about, but is only a description or an imagination of the Western, mainly American journalism professionalism, made by Chinese scholars in the context of China. It shows their own expectations and visions for the development of Chinese Journalism. Some western scholars’ relevant expressions are just the auxiliary material for them to think and feel. What the scholars’ interpretative strategy is to overlook the frst “signifed” level deliberately, to add some extended meanings to expand its ideographic spaces greatly, and to make it a feld that can be ramblingly and joyful galloped in the premise of not changing the its typical academic terminology.
