Abstract

After years of development of communication studiesand new technologies, communication studies have come to the intersection of theoretical innovation and paradigm innovation. This paper holds that in terms of the innovation and development in the feld of communication, we should adhere to practice as the logical starting point of academic theory innovation, and as well as the highest criterion of testing academic theory. The development of new technology has greatly released the degrees of freedom of human beings’cognition and action, and has also added new rules and restrictions to the communicationstudies. Learning new scientifc and technological methods is of great significance for discipline construction. Media convergence practiceshould start from market integration and demand integration, and restructure production and distribution model based on the users’demand and consumption. In the future, we need to reserve corresponding space for the "marginal innovation". "People-oriented" should be the yardstick of measuring innovation and development in media practice and academic research.
