This paper summarized the focus and breakthroughs of Chinese media economics studies in 2017 from the perspectives of media economics theories, media convergence, media industry, media operation and media regulation. In the new stage of Internet development, scholars have shown a strong preference of question consciousness and rethought many fundamental issues in media economics studies. The dominant role of traditional media in the process of media convergence and media regulation was discussed again. Scholars believed that integrated convergence is the new model of media convergence process and Internet industry regulation is the principal focus of media regulation construction. Technological revolution was considered to be the main solution of the dilemma of traditional media as well as the artery of building a better media ecology.
