Abstract

In the modern era of academic research from “differentiation” to “integration”, the Chinese humanistic and social sciences including communication and semiotics face the crisis and opportunities of deconstruction and reconstruction. How to break through and renew requires a transdisciplinary perspective, which meecns borrowing strength among broad and profound academic resources and to form joint forces. Under this background, driven by the triplex logic including technicality, instrumental nature and practicability, the communication and semiotics are destined to ally with each other. As a research paradigm formed from the integration of communication and semiotics, communication semiotics also needs to seek new transcendence. Only by keeping questioning what “ought-to-be” is on the basis of grasping the current academic achievements can communication semiotics have the possibility to make a difference.
