Based on the system of the journalism knowledge and the defnitions of news, journalism education has four paradigms: professional journalism paradigm, policy journalism paradigm, public journalism paradigm and critical journalism paradigm. They together constitute a complete system of journalism education. In order to break through in journalism education, we should improve professional journalism education and foster public journalism education actively in the context of new media technology. Journalism education not only needs idealism and humanistic feelings, but also needs a plurality of open visions and orientations.
