Abstract

This article is a brief review of China’s journalism studies in 2016, based on a survey of important academic journal articles. It fnds that the utilitarian studies are relatively more than the basic theoretical research. These are re?ected in the facts that much of the scholars’ attention has been paid to new phenomenon of journalism crisis and news idea of Xi Jinping. At the same time, there are also many topics of the related areas that merit attentions, especially in the felds of journalistic professionalism, news business, the personal information right and “new” history of newspaper. Generally speaking, this paper argues that the primary duty of academic circles is to provide all kinds of advice and warnings constantly for the whole society.
