Abstract

Focusing on the subject of journalism, this article explores the reasons for the theoretical vacuum of Chinese journalism through both international and domestic, historical and present, capitalism and socialism perspectives, and answers the “why” question. Based on that, the article also reviews the history, concepts and theories of western journalism, and takes it as the logical start point of criticism in order to answer the “how” question from theoretical system, educational system and practical system.
