Abstract

Media system is a structure by which different media institutions and practices interact with one and another, and with other actors in the society. Media systems, each of them are rooted in a particular historical context and the truth is that there is not really a single ideal media system. A good media system is in which you have public opinions formed in a way that people come from the actual conditions of their society, all the different actors of society all the different segments of society have a voice and the particular society has access to ideas, information from outside; you know other voices around the globe. Chinese media system has some degree of pluralism that results from commercial and political logics and it has a kind of complicated story between professionalism and instrumentalization. As to the reform of Chinese media system, professional autonomy of journalists to be a good principle around which to organize a media system that maintains a sense of social responsibility of the media as an institution and maintains that against both forms of political and commercial influence that would undermine the role of the media.
