Abstract

The nationalist movement based on common emotional memory and value demands is usually accessible to public identity and official support, which is a typical case of consensus social movement. However, the cyber nationalist movements in reality often happened in a conflict way, sometimes it combined with populism, which leads to the transfermation and generalization of the target. But "D8 Expedition" presented an another type, it completed the mass production of meme symbols (image macros) through the division of the organization. The strategy hided the emotional expression in the playing meme symbols, implemented the "occupation of attention" by "strong memes" to achieve the visual protest effects, and used the "communication oriented memes" to realize the emotional communication. Without doubt that it is still difficult to overcome the flaws of memetic communication: it brings great challenges in manpower, organization and mobilization by using the huge-crowd strategy to brush screen; selective memory about the images and selective fltering about the texts are easy to cauth participants in the image carnival; the different digital meme subcultural background impedes the deeper exchange of ideas and political communication. As a new type of political participation, internet meme has a strong communication capacity, it provides a new mobilization mode for the cyber nationalist movement, and it is a new logic of collective action of youth group in visual communication era.
