Abstract

This article is a brief review of China’s journalism and communication studies in 2015. Due to political circumstances, the studies in the areas of journalism research, communication research, and the history of journalism and communication are demand-driven and application- oriented to some extent. These are reflected in the facts that media convergence remains the dominant topic, that more and more scholars have paid attention to the issue of Internet regulation, that political communication research has become a new “hot” area, and that historical studies on the journalistic and communicative activities during the anti-Japanese War have got a predominant position periodically. Meanwhile, there are also many topics of related areas that merit attention, especially in the fields of news business and “new” history of newspaper. In addition, the reflective discussions on the development of the fields of journalism and communication have been heated and deep.
