Abstract

Based on staff tables of chosen films from 2004 to 2014, which represent the partnership between movie producers and directors, this paper uses social network analysis to study changes of cooperative relation in from 2004 to 2009 and 2013. The results show that compared to 2004, the network density and centrality are higher. Meanwhile, some movie producers’ point centrality and betweenness centrality gain a significant increase, which means they start to occupy the core positions in the network. The logic of capitalization is also the deep factor that leads to producer-centered production mechanism and company- cored production network. In the future, more trans-boundary production and collaborative production will appear. The boundary among different media industry will also tend to be blurred.
