From respectively the two aspects of translation researchers and journalism practitioners, this article analyzes the definition, function, strategy of news compilation and translation, as well as the limitation of each aspect. Moreover，it proceeds to illustrate the politics of news compilation and translation from the frame of original text, motive of sponsorship, and positioning of target readership. Finally, it puts forward the strategy of being loyal to original text while providing necessary notes to tackle news compilation and translation.
