Text Citation and Frequency Meaning: Framework Analysis on the Report of “Mo Yan Winning” in China, France and the USA
In this essay, with the coverage collected from People's Daily, Le Figaro, and New York Times on Mo Yan's Winning as the research object, the authors construct a two-part story framework by framework analysis based on citation statistics and frequency statistics of the respective coverage of the above three media. The first part is the reference framework on the reference text level, namely "intertextual reference" of Chinese coverage, "euphemism reference" of French coverage and "direct reference" of American coverage; the second part is the implication framework on the word frequency level, namely "implication of political implications" of Chinese coverage, "euphemism political implications" of French coverage, and "direct political implication" of American coverage. Under such a framework, the coverage of the three media is found to present a certain common tendency in some way. Therefore, this essay analyzes three different concepts of news, politics and culture respectively in China, French and America by comparing China with the west and French with America, and finds that different cultural perspectives can influence the formation of political ideology of a country and also the news coverage concept.
