Abstract

According to Foucault’s theory of Space Discipline, space is the fortress and medium of power exertion, while the production of space lies in the discipline practice of space. Nowadays, the social media has been characterized by excessive Over Share. As Jeffrey Rosen addressed, a world of Omnipticon has come into being. Generally, the space discipline is the spatialized process of capital power, the visual representation of spatial visibility, the social reconstruction of fragmented space, the flowing production of space relationship and de-ritualized reforming of traditional space, which has dramatically extended Foucaults theory of Space Discipline. Hence it is necessary to examine his theory critically, while a series of facts of space discipline, in the context of social media, has exceeded what Foucault’s theory of discipline can be explained.
