Abstract

By taking “Little Grass”,a Shenzhen Labor NGO as research object, this study analyzes the process and outcome of their new media practice during the violent eviction and explores the role and empowerment effects of Weibo in this event. It is found that “Little Grass” gained empowerment at such levels as personal,interpersonal and social participation by using Weibo. The limitations of Weibo are also discussed.
