Abstract

The main difference in signification between the two academic terms sign and symbol is, as we may realize, whether there is natural tie between signifier and signified. However, the confusion about the concepts and interpretations of sign and symbol does exist, which, should be traced to the source, i.e. semiotics itself from the West. In view of the above-mentioned facts, this paper tries to clarify the difference between sign and symbol further.
