New Social Movements and an Exploration on Rhetorical Theory of
Climate Change Communication
The climate change communication is, typically, a kind of new social movements, which essentially
presents as a rhetorical movements originated from mind. To create deep identity and, further, collective
movements on the problem-solving process of climate change, five associated aspects concerning
rhetorical practice including ideographs, context, metaphors, images and articulation can be employed so
as to construct a rhetorical framework of climate change communication.
