The purpose of this study is to examine the situation of computer/internet using for elder people in
Beijing Chaoyang District, China. And we also try to find out what the common characters they have. The
research data derived from the Tracking Survey of 2010 Urban and Rural Elderly Population in China. In
the survey 1,963 community-dwelling adults ranging in age from 60 to 92 years were inquired. A regression
analysis model was built with the survey result. And the data shows that male elder men incline to use the
computer/internet. Besides, the elder people with higher education, lower age and official title before the
retirement also incline to use the computer/internet. Thirdly, they are also affected by their friends support.
At last, we discuss the existing problems and make an exploration towards the future research direction.
