The Role of the Colonial Press in the Civil Society Construction in U.S.A

Abstract

With the rise of the colonial press, the civil society in the United States was growing up. As a part of the colonial civil society, the press made a public sphere and urged other civil societies' developing. The civil society idea was born during the time when the journalism was on the upgrade and an "imaging civic community” was shaped from the press one by one among the people in North American continent, and the press promoted this "community" to "civil society " in practice and eventually a social structure " STATE -CIVIL SOCIETY "was formed in the United States. In this paper, based on the angle of the colonial press, a dichotomy study of the "state" and "civil society" is used to explore reasons of the rise of the civil society in the U.S.A
