Abstract

In "Manchuria Negotiations", for the sake of defending for Japan, the Shuntian Times, a Japanese
newspaper in China had even sacrificed their reputation on appealing to constitutional reform for years.
Meanwhile, it analyzed the psychology of the whole country and explained the reasons and situations on
the newspaper to induce Chinese people to make concession. It was the first non-official Japanese-run
newspapers played an important part in the conflict between China and Japan. And their speech strategy had
deeply influenced the late Japanese media in China during the period of Japanese invasion.
