Abstract

 

The United States is the birthplace of modern public service advertising (PSA). Since the founding of the War Advertising Council (WAC) in the 1940s, PSA campaigns have had a 70-year history. This paper takes the activities of WAC as case studies to explore how a public service advertising organization played its role during wartime of a country, and also offer the author’s suggestions to the practice of the public service advertising in China.
