Global Communication Competence of International Journalism Practitioners: A Study based on the In-depth Interviews

Abstract

This study is based on the in-depth interviews with 10 journalists who have been engaged in international journalism for decades both from China and abroad. It finds that global communication competence of international journalism practitioners mainly includes 5 elements: global citizenship, effective self-presentation, interactive communication capability, cultural understanding and journalistic professionalism.
