New Media in Social Management: Functions and Impacts
This study focuses on the influence of new media on social management. It examines the roles and
functions new media play in social management from three perspectives: actors, objects and approaches.
This paper is a part of the research project “Research of Development of New Media and Social
Management Innovation in Beijing”(project number:12ZHC024), subsidized by both Beijing’s 12th Five-
Year Plan in the fields of Philosophy and Social Science and 2011 Beijing Federation of Social Science.
