The dissemination of the Iskra edited by Lenin in China has been rather vague for a long time. Based on a large number of original historical materials and interviews, this paper clearly shows the spread of Lenin’s Iskra in the hundred-year history of the Communist Party of China from several clues. The CPC has promoted the dissemination of thought and practice from the Iskra which was edited by Lenin. From a political perspective, the CPC required the Party journalism to follow Lenin's Iskra thought from 1929. Lenin's Iskra thought was one of the theoretical sources of Mao Zedong's Party journalistic thought in 1942. The Chinese journalism academic circle incorporated Lenin’s Iskra thought into teaching and researching in 1958 when the Department of Journalism of Renmin University of China, the frst regular university founded by the CPC, published a textbook named Lenin's Theory of Newspapers. Due to the limitation of collecting historical documents, almost all current works on Lenin's Iskra are based on Lenin's articles and notes published in the Chinese version of The Collected Works of Lenin. The authors agree that the compilation of the whole set of the Iskra edited by Lenin is a breakthrough to deepen the relevant researches. Lenin not only published 57 articles on the Iskra, but also reviewed and edited all the articles, including a huge number of international communist movement news. Once the original Iskra is translated into Chinese, Lenin's views of journalism are no longer just a number of political requirements, but also have many connotations that re?ect the law of journalism.
