Abstract

In a creative sense, dispelling rumor news’ argumentation can be classified as restated or creative. The former is a possible mandatory corrective effect in journalism communication, because the dispelling rumor news uses some formal modes of coercion, such as official statement, expert dispelling rumor and press conference. Thus, they are obviously one-way linear communication. The latter advocates new correcting practice. The creative argumentation is based on rethinking about the nature of rumors through new arguments and reasons, including imagination, insight and generalization. It also confirms that dispelling rumor’s argument plays an active role in shaping human meaning, emphasizing interactive relationship between rumor dispelling and social responsibility.
